WFR...check

I finally came out of the hole that was called Wilderness First Responder Class. I passed, but not without losing my life for 9 straight days. Wow, I had forgotten how it feels to be in a school setting.

Good stuff though, as I now have some much needed skills to help deal with running into bad situations in the wilderness. I assume that this point that the odds of me running into someone in dire need of help while out on a run in the middle of nowhere is getting greater and greater since I am out there so much more. Good to be prepared and helpful. Who knows, I might be able to help myself get out of a bind or two because of what I learned.  Good for work too as I am probably going to help out with our guide service a bit more in the coming years.

Since class, I had the weekend to play with Susan and remember that I had a wife and a life going on post class. We had a particularly good day on Sunday, climbing Flip Wilson in Sedona. Really fun route cuz it was pretty much a sport route and it went to the top of Courthouse Butte. Really cool setting...always is in Sedona.

I'm hoping to get back to running as I didn't do jack sh-t during the class...get the legs moving again. The weather has been totally unbelievable the last few weeks and I aim to try to get out in it a bit more before winter finally comes back to Flagstaff. Maybe some more climbing with Susan and getting some runs in the Canyon. We will see...

I'll end this post with a really motivating video I just watched... good stuff!

Go do what you love!!!
